Carnivore Plant

Botanist have recently found that the largest meat-eating plant is actually not eating the insects that it trapped but it's poo. The biggest pitcher is found in Borneo. And it being big to be able to catch a rat but according to Botanist, it has never captured a mammal. The study suggest that the pitcher and the shrew in the tree has developed a mutualistic relationship. The mammal get it's nectar and in return the shrew drops its poo.

Pitcher Plants (according to wiki) are carnivorous plants whose prey-trapping mechanism features a deep cavity filled with liquid known as a pitfall trap. It has been widely assumed that the various sorts of pitfall trap evolved from rolled leaves, with selection pressure favouring more deeply cupped leaves over evolutionary time. However, some pitcher plant genera (such as Nepenthes) are placed within clades consisting mostly of flypaper traps: this indicates that this view may be too simplistic, and some pitchers may have evolved from flypaper traps by loss of mucilage.

This is the end of my research other than looking up some tazorac reviews.

Lost

We lost the shortest man He Pingping recently while rehearsing an Italian TV show in Rome. He was 21.

Guinness World Records reported that Mr. Pingping was born with Primordial dwarfism. According to wiki, it is a rare form of dwarfism that results in a smaller body size in all stages of life beginning from before birth. More specifically, primordial dwarfism is a diagnostic category including specific types of profoundly proportionate dwarfism, in which individuals are extremely small for their age, even as a fetus. Most individuals with primordial dwarfism are not diagnosed until they are about 3 years of age.

I'm small myself and can be seen as a dwarf compared to caucasian that's why I'm taking my women vitamins. I suppose, each individual is unique.

Twitter in School

An experiment was conducted in one of the Universities in Australia where students are encouraged to use Twitter to ask and answer questions during Power Point presentations. The tweets scroll across the bottom of the page where everyone can see. This is a good tool to those who are shy because lets face it, even in this time and age, there are still people who can't talk infront of other people who are like strangers to them.

The downside was it might encourage them to remain shy all their lives or worst be anti-social. This was also pointed out. Upside is, you get the best from all the students which is the best classroom scenario - everyone is participating. There's no better sight than to hear ideas rolling from one corner to another even if they are just discussing mesothelioma survival rate.

Now, Twitter has just become a perfect tool for communication in and out of the classroom.

Clem7 Tunnel

The Clem7 tunnel opened last Monday although there was an inaugural opening where people run from one end to another (to complement their diet supplements, I reckon. Lol). They said, if you go through it, you're missing 24 traffic lights - cool, isn't it? It's a toll tunnel although for now it's free until April 4.

Brisbane’s Clem Jones Tunnel is the first component of the Lord Mayor’s TransApex vision to improve the city’s road network and comprises nearly seven kilometres of new roadway, with two 4.8-kilometre twin lane tunnels.

In 2006, Brisbane City Council awarded the $2 billion project to the River City Motorway team, led by Leighton Contractors, Baulderstone Hornibrook, the Bilfinger Berger Joint Venture and ABN AMRO. AECOM was appointed to deliver all urban planning, landscape architecture, urban design and architecture for the bid and delivery phases of the project. In addition, AECOM’s 3D animation team produced high-quality visualisations of the proposed scheme, which have been used extensively in the media and throughout community consultation processes.

The tunnel is 6.8 KM long.
